Moneybox Live Powers of Attorney

Moneybox Live on 16th November was about Powers of Attorney.  Among other things the programme made the point that people who lose mental capacity, but who do not have a Power of Attorney are blocking hospital beds. This is because no-one is empowered to make decisions for them, or access their assets, so they are stuck in hospital when they would be better off being moved into a care home or returned home with appropriate care arrangements made for them.

At Purely Probate we have developed a “shared service” for helping clients to make Powers of Attorney.

This keeps cost down, as we provide the technical legal advice, and prepare the documents, but our clients gather some of the signatures, and send the application to the Office of the Public Guardian.
