This is a  comment from a UK ex-pat living in France, whose husband recently passed away:

“Some Notaires here in France are not happy with handling English wills as it goes against French values of family heredity. I am really glad that we made UK Wills as it has protected me from all complications attached to freezing of bank accounts and children claiming even your car, as this is our second marriage.

This is a lovely country to live in but law from Napoleonic times even frustrates French especially in second marriages with children from both sides.”
